亞土虛室

林垂宙在中國大陸出生，在香港、台灣、美國受教育，亦在這些地區從事科技教學工作。他的本科教育是化學工程，其後逐漸擴及到物理化學、高分子、材料科學、工程管理、創新管理、國家創新機制等。

他熱愛中國文化，特別喜歡讀老子、孔子、孟子。他是一位教師、研究員、技術經理、企業領導、作家。他歡喜安靜、愛閱讀、看電影、練書法，亦喜歡去有文化及好風景的地方旅行。

他自覺擅長於退休，已經有三次的經驗：一在美國 (哥大，杜邦公司共二十二年)，二在台灣 (清華，工研院 共十二年)，三在香港 (香港科大，南沙科技園約共十二年)。在此之間，他常去中國大陸，亞太地區，歐洲大陸多處演講。

他喜愛他的兒女，亦透過他們奉献學費給許多學府包括哥倫比亞、芝加哥、哈佛、麻省理工、普林斯頓、卜克萊加大等。

I have often dreamed of having a simple study where I can receive friends of all ages and at all time. With chatting, chanting, critiquing, debating, arguing from all imaginary corners of the universe, it will be a platform of entertainment and stimulation.
